Privacy policy

Homebox collects and processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French law on information technology and civil liberties.

Hereinafter,

  • the terms “You” or “Your” refer to any person whose personal data is processed under the terms of this data protection policy.
  • The term “Service” designates all services provided by Homebox or its operators under the Homebox, Box-At-Home, Mobil Box or Buro Club business centre brands.

 

Collected personal data

Homebox limits the personal data collected to data that is adequate, relevant and strictly necessary for processing and managing customer relationships.

Failure to provide this data may, in some cases, make it impossible for us to enter into the contract and/or supply Services and/or provide marketing offers.

 

Processing customer data

Homebox processes Your personal data, either directly or through its operators in order to: 

  • Manage the customer relationship with You or Your company, including customer account creation, contract management and Service billing.
  • Provide Services and ensure their security by sending informational SMS/emails about events related to your storage site, using video surveillance at sites and controlling access at sites.
  • Facilitate connections for shared storage services.
  • Improve service quality (ask You for feedback on our Services through our partners, personalise our offer, fight fraud, identify potential malfunctions, conduct statistical analysis via anonymised data)
  • Provide marketing offers that may interest you after you opt in.

We process your data because we have entered into a contract with
You and/or Homebox or our operators have a legitimate interest in order to provide Service management and security and increase sales, and/or Homebox or its operators have a legal obligation to do so.

Processing prospective customer data

Homebox processes Your personal data in order to:

  • Create a quote, upon Your request
  • Improve service quality (ask You for feedback on our Services through our partners, personalise our offer, fight fraud, identify potential malfunctions, conduct statistical analysis via anonymised data)
  • Provide marketing offers that may interest You.

We process Your data with Your consent. You can opt out of marketing offers at any time.

 

Recording phone conversations with the call centre

Your conversations with call centre operators are recorded based on Homebox’s legitimate interest in providing better traceability in relationships between Homebox and its customers or prospective customers. Callers are informed of this recording before the conversation begins.

 

Transferring data

Your personal data is essentially used by Homebox and its operators. It is only transferred to our partners in order to properly provide services and manage the resulting customer relationship. Data is transferred to:

  • Homebox partners who manage credit card and direct debit payments,
  • partners who provide customer relationship management and marketing communication.

 

Storage

Your personal data is stored in France for a period appropriate to the purpose of each processing operation. In general, prospective customer data is stored for a maximum period of two years after the date of last contact with HOMEBOX . Customer data is stored for the contract period and for a maximum period of ten years after the contract ends. In exceptional cases, this data may be stored for longer periods to manage any claims or litigation if necessary and to meet legal and/or regulatory obligations.

 

Your rights

You have the right to request access to your personal data and to rectify inaccurate data. Within the limits of and in the cases provided for in applicable legislation, you may request that this data be erased, restrict the processing period, or object to its processing. You have the right to portability of the personal data you have provided to Homebox or its operators under the conditions provided for in applicable legislation. You also have the right to define directives related to storing, deleting and sharing personal data processed by Homebox after your death, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

When a processing operation is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
